Vintage 1930s Nude/Sheer Gown/Party Dress

Vintage 1930s Nude/Sheer Gown/Party Dress. I purchaced this dress as my wedding gown, but even after loosing weight, my stout arms would not fit through the armscye (arm openings). Vintage 30s Nude Sheer Gown / Party Dress with Black Lace Corset Overlay - Scandalous yet Innocent & Lovely - Small - Estate Piece. From the estate of a wealthy California family who moved west to establish a successful mercantile business during gold rush days. The overall look is very innocent and feminine; but there's also a bit of a naughty allure to the way the designer positioned the black net lace overlay for a "corset" peekaboo look over the nude sheer of the bodice. Reportedly each female family member had their own seamstress who had access to some amazing textiles & notions. The black lace is very delicate and special (and remarkably in perfect condition). Shoulders are shirred at the top of the shoulder and there are tiny covered buttons down the front of the illusion bodice. It's difficult to see in photos but the under dress has a strapless sweetheart neckline so you are modestly covered up over the bust.

The under dress is a sturdy flesh pink / beige lightweight faille. The sheer layer feels like rayon (no loose fibers for a burn test). Waist accent is a simple, slender black silk velvet ribbon. Dress closes with an underarm metal zipper and boasts of superior inner construction as well as pinked seams, with careful expert placement of the lace. CONDITION: Freshly dry cleaned and excellent condition except for only two very minor issues: There's a very faint spot that was not removed in cleaning (see close up photo) and a 1 1/4" long tear 4" up from the hem edge on the sheer layer only (photo).

Honestly you REALLY have to look for these issues since this skirt has a whopping 300 full sweep and the folds easily hide them. MEASUREMENTS: Of dress laid flat (not the body it fits) Please compare to something that fits you & leave room for comfort. For reference, my dress form measures 35" 24" 35 and the gown fits snugly but very well.

LENGTH -- Bodice is 15" from top shoulder to waist/skirt -- is 42" long. BOTTOM HEM SWEEP -- extremely full at 300. ARMSCYE -- arm opening is a tight 15.
